With 41 sq km of water surface, the lake possesses 48 islands and a hydel project located close to it. You can find numerous migratory birds of all kinds in winters. The lake also acquires a rich reservoir of natural and cultured fishes.
The Hydel Project near the Dumboor Lake from where river Gomati originates and this is called Tirthamukh where on 14th January every year famous 'Poush Sankranti Mela' (on the Makar Sankranti Day) takes place. The rivers Raima and Sarma converges at this lake.

Airport : Nearest airport is at Agartala. You can pick a bus or taxi from her to reach the lake. The Agartala airport connects Tripura to the rest of India by air.
Railhead : The nearest rail station is at Kumarghat of NF railway. From here you can reach the place by road.
Road Transport : The is about 110 km away from Agartala. You can take buses, private taxies and rickshaws from here to reach the lake.
